Medieval Jousting returns to Leeds Castle this Bank Holiday Weekend with mighty clashes and thrilling entertainment for all ages at the Grand Medieval Joust. New for 2018, watch England compete against France in four new competitions. See the squires arm the English and French knights in full plate armour, before they battle it out to become victors in foot combat, skill-at-arms, melee and jousting challenges.

Gather around the Combat Arena for exciting entertainment with combat, archery and firepower displays throughout the day and a chance to witness the mighty medieval trebuchet shooting into the moat. 

Take a step back in time to the Middle Ages with a programme of themed activities for all ages throughout the weekend ranging from Children’s Mini Battles, Have a Go Archery and living history re‑enactment camps with characters such as the medieval surgeon to embrace the sights and sounds of this colourful era in history.

Visit the Knight’s Encampment to hear tales of real jousting injuries and how they are treated. Historic Days Out bring their fantastic model of The Canterbury Tales to life with music and dance and children can have a go at learning how to play a trumpet fanfare with Master Tuck!

The Grand Medieval Joust is included in the price of admission to Leeds Castle.

Leeds Castle in Kent has plenty to offer families to brighten your days out as summer arrives. From wildlife and parkland walks, cafés, two gift shops and Elsie the Land Train there is something for all ages taking place at Leeds Castle. There are many attractions included with your entrance ticket from free flying falconry displays daily from April to September, the yew Maze and Grotto and two adventure playgrounds with climbing turrets, zip lines, sand pits and slides. There are 500 acres of beautiful grounds and gardens to explore and plenty of wildlife to see including the beautiful black swans.

Admission tickets cost £24.90 for adults; £21.90 for seniors and visitors with disabilities (carer goes free); £16.90 for children (under 4s free). Leeds Castle is located near Maidstone in Kent just off Junction 8 of the M20 within easy reach of London. Grounds open at 10am daily and the Castle is open from 10.30am. Last admission is 4.30pm and gates close at 6pm from April to September.
