When news first broke that Katherine Heigl’s character on Grey’s Anatomy was suffering from some brain-tumor-esque ailment, most pegged the grumpy star as a goner. But then came word from creator Shonda Rhimes that, depending on how contract talks went with the show’s rising star, the brain tumor could be operable. However, in last night’s episode, the residents of Seattle Grace diagnosed “Patient X” (a.k.a. Heigl) with a particularly nasty strain of skin cancer, a prognosis that carries with it a slim, 5 percent chance of survival.

Redeem now Ruby Franke's lawyer said she will plead guilty to charges related to child abuse.She will also accuse her former business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, of taking "advantage" of her.Police arrested both women in August after a child escaped from their care.  Ruby Franke, the former momfluencer who was arrested in August and charged with child abuse shortly after, will plead guilty, her lawyer says. Franke, who once ran the popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which followed the lives of her, her husband Kevin, and their six children, was charged with 6 felonies after her 12-year-old son climbed through a window to get help for himself and his 10-year-old sister.

A New Jersey teacher who admitted to having sex with her 18-year-old student twice in 2014 lost her teaching license this month. Nicole McDonough, 33, pleaded guilty and in February was admitted into an intervention program that spared her from prison time. She was sentenced to just three years of supervised probation when the prosecutor's office wanted to lock her up for five years.  McDonough agreed to give up her teaching certificate as part of the deal and will not be able to teach in the state of New Jersey ever again, according toNJ.

Bryce Harper is having an eventful year. The Philadelphia Phillies star has returned from Tommy John surgery and is batting well. But his power-hitting has needed to improve this season, with only three home runs thus far. Most recently, news about his future off-season residence might worry the Phillies. Harper recently went through an emergency where a fan reportedly stole his car. Although that seems untrue, the precise cause for his distress and a police presence during the Phillies’ recent game remains unknown.
