MMA and Dagestani fighters seem to be made for each other. The Russian province has a knack for producing some of the toughest, most well-respected fighters in the sport, including GOAT contender Khabib Nurmagomedov and reigning UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
Makhachev has spoken about the hard life in Dagestan, demanding a lot of physical labor, which produces tough, hardened men. And another case in point is the upcoming, undefeated prospect Sharaputdin Magomedov, who will make his UFC debut this month at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. on October 21.
Sharaputdin Magomedov to debut at UFC 294
Sharaputdin Magomedov is an undefeated middleweight mixed martial artist. He has the impressive distinction of having won 11 of his 10 fights via KO/TKO. At UFC 294, he will face unranked UFC middleweight Bruno Silva in his first appearance in the world’s biggest mixed martial arts promotion.

‘Shara Bullet’ has a kickboxing background, which explains his high knockout rate. Interestingly, he was born in Makhachkala, the same city where Islam Makhachev and UFC #2 ranked light heavyweight Magomed Ankalaev were also born. The Dagestani, however, is a controversial figure.
Sharaputdin Magomedov’s alleged attack and controversial moment during the grappling tournament
Magomedov has been in the news recently for two controversial events. He was recently involved in an alleged brawl at a shopping mall. In a video of the incident, he can be seen having heated discussions with a man in front of him on an escalator. As per sources, the man was kissing his girlfriend. The altercation escalated, and the two got into fisticuffs, with the civilian (who threw the first punch) managing to hold his own against the fighter before they were separated.
The middleweight, however, did not take kindly to this. In the extended video, the undefeated Dagestani could be seen waiting outside the mall. He proceeded to punch his opponent as he was coming out of the mall with his girlfriend, downing him. He then brutally stomped on his fallen foe’s head.

Another video from the ADCC Southeast Asia tournament has come forward that does not paint ‘Shara’ in the best light. Magomedov’s opponent put him into a heel lock and The Dagestani tapped almost immediately. He then went up to his opponent and had some heated words, while the opponent was lying on the ground. He then kicked him lightly and walked away.

In the comments section, one fan wrote that this was because he had an ankle injury and the two men had agreed not to use ankle locks before the fight. Magomedov was angry his opponent went back on his word, which is why he kicked him. We could not confirm this information, however, and maybe the kick was down to him being a sore loser. Either way, the newest Dagestani on the UFC roster is already a controversial figure.
